So I did my first day of skiing yesterday. My legs are pretty much fucked right now, but it was fun. Also did some landscapes with the 550D I got. Yeah, new cameras are awesome.
A friend og my father recently lent me his Nikon D700 and his awesomely wide 14-42mm zoom (Thanks again). It is so wide I actually felt dizzy looking through it. I went with some super harsh editing for these, because a.) I was in the mood for it and b.) it suits wide angle shots in my opinion.
So I did some more. I am going through a phase of searching for my style at the moment; I felt burned out and empty by doing photography recently. Keeping it fun is a constant process of re-thinking and re-adjusting, but the rewards are amazing.
(I liked both of them a lot, so I'm sharing both.)
For one day in Cologne, I went out and borrowed a Canon 85mm 1.2-lens, a ridiculously large, expensive and heavy piece of optical design. Of course I'm not nearly good enough to use it to its full potential, but I did catch a glimpse of what it might be able to do in the right hands.
